The VSTA and VCTM joint 2012 Conference is looking for workshops presenters dedicated to sharing ideas and strategies that effectively integrate Science, Math, Engineering and Technology, emphasizing examples of technology use wherever possible. You (or your team) will receive a $150 stipend for your participation in this Conference, plus access to all attendee benefits.
We are sure you are doing a tremendous job in your science and mathematics instruction, and we want you to share some of your successes with your colleagues.
We are seeking individuals or small teams (2 presenters) who are interested in presenting a 2-hour workshop at the 2012 Spring Conference on APRIL 9, 2012. We will consider all types of presentations, but are especially interested in the following:
· Use of design and engineering using math and science
· Classroom science activities that blend math and technology
· Examples of STEM integration (including science, mathematics, engineering and technology) within a classroom activity/unit.
· Integration of STEM and literacy
· New software applications that clarify scientific and mathematical ideas
· Electronic white-board use
· Use of technology to enhance math and science communication
· Effective use of internet resources to enhance science and/or math instruction
· Other
Wherever possible, we would like to see examples of student work that illustrate your ideas.
